Nottingham Cathedral Music has been awarded funding by Arts Council England to support a collaboration with Music for Everyone and Streetwise Opera developing a semi-staged production of the community opera Tobias and the Angel.
The project is based in Nottingham and will be led by Alex Patterson (conductor) and Robin Reece-Crawford (director). Young musicians from Music for Everyone will work with Streetwise Opera and both Cathedral Choirs to provide the chorus parts.
The final performance will be in Nottingham Cathedral on Saturday 9 June as part of the Cathedral’s wider Music Festival.

Call for singers
We are looking to cast 8 principal roles for this semi-staged production. There is a particular interest to offer operatic experience to singers who wish to pursue a career in opera and are at the start or early stages of their professional career although casting will not be restricted to this.
Rehearsals will take place in Nottingham throughout May. Key dates:
Saturday 26 May - workshop day with all participants at Nottingham Cathedral
Saturday 9 June - final dress rehearsal and performance
The production will be paid.
If you would like to audition, please send a copy of your CV and links to recordings to alexpattersonmusic@gmail.com.
